The Tokyo District sentenced a man who claimed he was by a Super
Saiyan-Jin, a popular fictional character in Dragon Ball, to stab a
another man using a kitchen knife. Mitsuru Imai was sentenced to a
three-year prison sentence, suspended for five years, for the attempted
murder.

Macross Frontier Virtual Concert

Megumi Nakajima and Aya Endo, the voice actresses of Ranka and Sheryl in Macross Frontier annouced that they will be holding their virtual live concert, which will hosted on the Sony Playstation Home media network in Japan.

Iryū - Team Medical Dragon Manga to End This Month

It was announced in the third issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic Superior magazine that Tarō Nogizaka's Iryū - Team Medical Dragon manga will come to an end in this year's fourth issue on January 28.
The story of the manga reflects on the current problems associated with Japanese modern medicine.

Kondasha, publisher of CLAMP's xxxHolic: Rō, confirmed on it's website that the 19th and final volume of the popular manga series will be published in the March issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine on February 9 and will be distributed alongside an original animation DVD in Japan.

Anime Style Magazine to get printed edition after more than 10 years

Anime Style Magazine, which folded in 2000 after launching only two printed editions will be launching its first printed edition this may after more than 10 years. During the years, the magazine was available in Internet-only format under the title Web Anime Style.

Boycotters to hold their own anime fair

The boycotters of the Tokyo International Fair have decided to hold their own anime fair. The boycott came as a result of a bill recently passed this year restricting the sale of manga and anime containing extreme sexual content not deemed appropriate for people under 18 years of age.
The event is scheduled to be held at the same time as the Tokyo International anime fair on March 26 and 27 next year.

Dengeki Comic Japan launches online version

ASCII Media Works, publisher of Dengeki Comic Japan, launched the online version of the comic magazine on Friday.
The first issue of the magazine, as well as a previous issue are available for free to via the Japanese sites, Voyager Store and Zasshi Online.
There are also plans for Chinese edition of the comic magazine but no date has been fixed for the first issue.

Boycott might jeopardize Tokyo Int'l fair

Association of Japanese Animation said in a statement on Tuesday that the boycotting of the Tokyo International Fair 2011 by 10 renown manga companies, notably, Kodansha Ltd, Shogakukan Inc. and Shueisha Inc. threatens to jeopardize the fair.

Battle Royal to get new spin-off next year

The new spin-off of Koushun Takami's Battle Royal, Battle Royal: Tenshi-tachi no Kokkyō (Battle Royal: Angels Borders) will be published in the next year's third edition of Young Champion Magazine on January 11. The new manga will have an independent storyline and Mioko Ōnishi is the illustrator.
The original plot of the 1999 novel centers around school students who are forced to play a deadly game.
